Dance

The photos below are a sampling of dance production photos from my work with the Theatre and Dance Department at East Carolina University. Designing lighting for dance is particularly exciting for me both because dance lighting is frequently called upon to be quite expressive, and because many dance pieces are new works, created from scratch by the choreographer, dancers, and the production team. A complete portfolio of my dance lighting designs would include lighting for a wide range of styles including: Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Improvisation, Tap, Flamenco, and Tango.

East Carolina University’s production schedule for dance was very similar in length to the production schedule for the plays and musicals, thereby allowing the time to create lighting designs uniquely focused to the needs of each piece while operating within a concert format.
